On Thursday, November 17, the Center for Irish Studies, and St. Thomas Libraries will co-host the Center for Irish Studies Fall 2022 Symposium.
Originally distinguished as the first public event on campus that was cancelled in 2019 because of the pandemic, the Center and University Libraries are delighted to host three well-known scholars – Jane Kennedy, Leslie Thomas, and Charlie Heyman.
The event will include the exhibition, “Fleeing from the Famine,” curated by Dr. Gerard Moran (National University of Ireland – Galway) and Dr. Christine Kinealy (Quinnipiac University). The exhibit is in the O’Shaughnessy- Frey Library lobby.
The symposium will occur in room 108 (the “leather room” of the library just off of the first-floor lobby. The Symposium is free and open to the public.
The featured talks will allow for ample time to see friends and have refreshments between. Please join us anytime that may allow for the three forty-five-minute talks to occur between 3:30 and 7:00. Registration is not necessary.
