Aer Lingus new direct service from Seattle to Dublin will fly four times a week, year around, and it marks the start of Are Lingus’ new interline agreement with Alaska Airlines. This is the second new transatlantic route to be launched by Are Lingus for this summer in 2018. The other being Philadelphia-Dublin service commenced in March.
That route has been so successful that a daily service is now in operation during peak summer season. Because of the strong business ties between Ireland and Seattle Aer Lingus feels that this will be a very successful endeavor for them. Also the interline agreement with Alaska Airlines means they will be able to offer seamless connections from 40 additional locations serviced by Alaskan Airlines.
Seattle is one of North America’s leading tech hubs and is home to multiple global hitech giants including Microsoft and Amazon, which have significant operations in Ireland. Aircraft manufacturer Boeing and global coffee company Starbucks started out in Seattle and still have a significant presence there today.
